In modern homes, washing machines can be said to be an essential electrical appliance, and after several generations of development, there have gradually been the emergence of today's diverse intelligent washing machines.
Early washing machines were double bucket washing machines, with one side used for washing clothes and the other side used for drying clothes. This generation of laundry technology only relies on the simple mechanical energy conversion of the motor into kinetic energy, and the control of the water level during the laundry process is entirely manual.
Later on, fully automatic wave wheel and drum washing machines became popular. Pressure sensors have been applied in washing machines, where the pressure of water and washing products acts on the sensors. By using an air chamber, the changes in water pressure at different water levels are detected as changes in air pressure, thereby automatically controlling the washing process, including inlet and outlet water and washing.
Drawing on the principle of pressure sensors for water level control, washing machines have also achieved control over detergents, and many manufacturers have also begun to use sensors to add the function of automatically adding laundry detergent. The pressure sensor has evolved from the simplest water level switch at the beginning to an important tool for intelligent washing machines.
With the changes in market demand, the application of sensors in washing machines is also increasing, and multifunctional products such as ultrasonic washing machines, electromagnetic cleaning washing machines, reactive oxygen cleaning washing machines, ozone washing machines, ion washing machines, etc. are emerging.
The advancement of technology has made the application of sensor technology in washing machines more and more widespread. By detecting the temperature, quantity, and cleanliness of laundry through sensors, this information is transmitted to the microcontroller for analysis, in order to determine the optimal washing time, water flow intensity, rinsing method, dehydration time, and water injection level parameters, and to automatically control the entire process of the washing machine.
Sensors for washing machines
Cloth load sensor: also known as clothing load sensor, it is used to detect the amount of clothing during laundry.
Fabric quality sensor: also known as clothing quality sensor, it is designed to detect the texture of clothing. (Cloth load sensors and water level sensors can also serve as fabric quality sensors.)
Water level sensor: Using a microcontroller to control an electronic water level sensor can automatically and accurately control the water level. The pressure on the bottom and wall of the washing bucket varies depending on the water level inside the bucket. This pressure can be transformed into deformation of the rubber diaphragm, and this change can be used to determine the water level of the washing machine.
Water temperature sensor: The water temperature sensor is installed at the bottom of the washing bucket and uses a thermistor as the detection element. The temperature measured when the washing machine is turned on is the ambient temperature, and the temperature at the end of water injection is the water temperature. The measured temperature signal is input to the microcontroller to provide information for fuzzy inference.
● Photosensitive sensor: Photosensitive sensor refers to the cleanliness sensor. It is composed of a light-emitting diode and a photosensitive transistor. Place the light-emitting diode and photosensitive transistor face to face on the upper part of the drainage outlet. Its function is to detect the light transmittance of the drainage outlet, and then the data processing of the detection results is carried out by a microcomputer. Determine the conditions of washing, drainage, rinsing, and dehydration.
